Beauty

by White Valentine   Apr 26, 2007

Beauty is a lie

made up by the beholders

who cannot see

beyond the disguises,

the illusions and facades

of things not there,

who pretend to see

what is concealed,

when the truth is,

they can't even see past the surface.

Beauty is much deeper than the surface and those that look beyond that have fulfilled a purpose to see what lies beneath the skin. True beauty radiates and spreads the joy to others. There are way too many superficial people in this world who refuse to see past their own noses to find the inner beauty in anything. Your write defines that and was a beautifully written piece with a message that all should look deeper within.
As for any critique, I wouldn't change a thing about the poem itself. The flow was great and it kept on target with the message. Wonderful Job.
