Before Life Fades Away

by Ashley Redden   Apr 26, 2007

A little girl
With tears streaming down her cheeks
Sits in a corner
Hiding her face
A cut for yesterday,a cut for today
One more cut for whatever else
To make the hurt go away
And everything goes numb
She sings the lyrics to her favorite song
Cause it tells the story of her life
She hides from the light
Only to curse the dark
While thunder crashes
Lightning flashing
Filling the empty dark room
She feels around on the floor
Picking up her bloody razor
As she carved the words
Goodbye my dear in her arm
She cries out to the silence
To find herself alone
Only to think
That this is how it always was
The rain beats against the roof
And the clock ticks away
Gives herself just a few more min
Before her life fades away
