Who I Am

by Ashley Redden   Jan 31, 2007

Sitting in the dark
Listening to the songs
That seem to tell the stories of your life
Looking back to the past
At the memories
That made you who you are

Whether a bad boyfriend
Or the sweet guy you just met
A wasted night you cant remember
A night you wont forget
A friend you'll keep close
Or a moment you might regret
Mood swings of your highs and lows
Something that happened again you swore you'd never let

A broken heart a mended soul
A tear Rollin down your cheek
When you met another and your heart he stole
That spoke the words that made your knees week
A friend that catches you when you fall
There for any problem you had
Whether it was big or small
And to stay up and talk it didn't seem all that bad

Your nights you never made it to bed
Partying or just long nights with friends
To find the morning the only thing to dread
Being there for each other til the end
Sleeping half the day
Never got old
If we had it our way
And our unbearable ways they couldn't seem to control

We live just once
One chance is all we get
Take life for granted
Too young for growing up just yet
Don't let anything pass you by
Don't do the things to get you off track
Living life to the fullest
Never going back

Sitting here still yet in the dark
Listening to the same old songs
Thats told the story of my life
Looking at my past
And at the memories
Thats made me who i am
