The Same

by Christie   Apr 30, 2007

Torn between the right and wrong,
Decision to be made in not so long,
Decisive hands play, but can it deal,
When another girl gets what I feel.

Better done than me, but that's a guess,
Yet it's not my side that I forget,
The words you said so long ago,
Blazing sunlight; face in shadow.

Selfish, maybe, but not to impair,
Just know that I'll always be there,
Haunting the dark images of knives play free,
Not mine; of course, it's yours I see.

Blunt blades laugh a manic song,
Those of which spread so long,
Cerise they exist, together it's alleged,
Broken the instant after the pledge.

So stands your life, a metaphor it's said,
A smile for all the times you've bled,
In shadows I stand, pleading in vain,
A whole hearted effort, but it'll stay the same.
