Broken Home

Why can't they get along?
Their words hurt my ears
Is this what love is about?

Our family falls apart
And they don't notice
Their children cry aloud

Their thoughts are clouded
By the hatred they hold
They don't care about much

It seems as though
The house falls down around us
Their screams crack our home

She throws him out the door
He yells to get in
We don't know what to do

She cries in the corner
Asking herself why
How did she let is get this bad?

Their father breaks in
She doesn't notice
He hits her hard

She lies there
Staring at her children
Trying to tell them to run

They hear nothing
Nothing but her screams of pain
Then he leaves

Their left with nothing
Just a broken home
No knowing how to mend
