Little girl, Little heart

by Chemically Corrupted   May 1, 2007

I went for a hike
All by myself
I walked over a bridge
But fell in the water

A few days earlier
A little girl fell too
She couldn't swim
So she drowned

I kicked and I screamed
But I couldn't breath
I finally held onto a rock
I knew then I would make it

I looked over to the bank
And there was a little girl
She lay pale and limp
I knew she was dead

I crawled onto the sand
And looked at the girl
What was she doing there?
All by herself?

I looked over my shoulder
And saw a familiar face
My friend had fallowed me
While I took the hike

She saw the dead body
And froze in fear
I said not to worry

I knew I had to help her
Even though she was dead
I grabbed her body
And started to walk away

My friend ran for help
While I was left with her
I asked her questions
Though she never answered
I knew she wanted to

I found out her name a day later
Her name was Maria and she was 6
I wandered why she wandered
Though bushes and sticks

She had an abusive father
And an uncaring mother
She killed herself
Because she could not take it

What a little girl with a little heart
It was broken from the start

    So sweet, and touching.
    Even thought it was sad.
    I have one question though
    Is this true?
