I drew my heart away

I grasp the pencil
between my fingers
I let my fingertips slip
to the point of comfort
I press it to the paper
which I smoothed, oh so carefully
Outlining the figures,
adding the detail
As the pencil adds magic
under my fingertips.
Gracefully gliding
so smooth, yet so precise,
I could sit her like this forever
And draw my heart away.
