Late Night Nonsense

by Brittney   May 5, 2007

With this gun to my head I break away from the lonliness.
Break away from the pain,
the sorrow,
the blame.
Sitting in front of a camera.
My finger on the trigger.
I scream your name.
Are you gonna save me?
Try to keep me sane?
I call you on the phone,
She picks up, says you aren't home.
Tears roll down my face.
I've been replaced.
Now it's time.
I hit record.
Say a few words.
This is the end.
Trigger pulled,
No more pain,
I'm finally sane.
They find me that day.
Camera still recording.
You show up,
Too late.
Walki in to them playing the tape.
See me blowing out my brains.
Sit and cry all you want.
I'm gone now.

The best of yours so far...
the structure of your poems, as I noticed in the last 2 i read, is very different from what I'm used to, very original, actually. You focused the theme of death a lot, what I also do myself...(I hope you're alright...)
this one has a lot of suspence in the middle, it makes the reader think if the person in the poem maybe doesn't kill herself (because of calling the guy first, etc.), the end is prettu sad, but still very well written...
    5/5
