Four Years Ago It Was [meggin]

by Sorefromreality   May 6, 2007

Four years of laughs, fights, and tears
I was hoping for four more years
Four years of smiles, jokes, but pain
Infinite fights, gave us instant fame

Outsiders watching from not so far away
Breakups and makeups, wrapped into one day
So many watched waiting for the end
But I always came back, trying to mend

Four years of summers, and truth or dares
Four years of constantly messing with our hair
Not enough time, to set things right
Four less the years of staying up all night

Sharing secrets, and even a boyfriend
That didn't even mark the ultimate end,
Four years of torment, count my scars
Those years of torture, line my arm

So many new things, in the new years
So many things learned, in just four years
A couple of teenagers, finding themselves
Discovering love, and loving themselves

Too lost in "I," forgetting of the "we"
Too scared to walk away, too blind to see
Four years of life, shared together
Four years of our life, gone forever

The fights were adding up, they were drifting away
Only to have emotions blowup one day
Both saying things, they didn't mea to say

So funny how a fight can start, when it's over nothing
So funny how loud a scream can be, when it means something

They both saw it coming, now to a screeching halt
Neither saying, who's the one at fault
Both saw it their way, not the other way around
Both of them yelling, yet not making any sound

The end closing in, not deserving a reason
Friendship shouldn't change so fast, lasting like a season
No one will tell you why, or even how it ended
This time they both knew, it just couldn't be mended

No one will make a sound, don't wanna think about her
Hurts too much forget, but more to remember
Decaying like a flower, and starting to mold
Too late for explanations, this friendship took it's toll

    This is terribly sad to read, as I know what it's like to lose such a good friend. You wrote this so well.. expressing so much emotion, but not only the end of the friendship, all the things you went through together aswell. I love these two lines, they are so true;
'So funny how a fight can start, when it's over nothing
So funny how loud a scream can be, when it means something'
Well done, keep it up. =]

    Much love,
