Nature's Love

by Jared   May 6, 2007

Cricket, Cricket, Cricket...

The sound flows through my ears

Like water in a cup.

The wind blows over my body

Like ever-lasting love.

This long, windy trail led me straight

To this wide, open lake.

All the world goes together, like a poem

How can God be a fake?

The moon shines down, just enough

To glance the reflection.

Of me holding you

It leads me right in your direction.

If only this long, windy trail

Led me straight to your heart.

I'd walk this trail forever

If it meant we'd never part.

But seeing as you

Are more than 20 miles away,

This heart that I thought was soft

Gets hardened like clay.

Cricket, cricket, cricket...

The sound flows through my ears,

Like water in a cup.

Tonight, your love blows over my body

And as always, it's just enough.
