True Love

by VannaLeen   May 8, 2007

I finally found the one I love, the one that loves me back.
You were just a filling to patch up empty cracks,
You left the job undone, creating more damage than you fixed,
Telling stories through your destruction, tales that I'll never forget.
You lied when you said you cared for me,
deception dripping from every word.
You lied when you said that you cared for me,
once again testing my love.
I can't say now weather my feelings were true,
but I can say I never lied to you.
So why is it that now, as I look back on the past,
I can not say that it was only you that caused the pain when anger turned to rage?
Was it me that wanted more, more than you could ever give?
Was it me that knew that somewhere out there, there was someone that would really let me live.
I knew that I was not happy, so I packed my things and left.
I knew that I had comitted a crime of theft.
I stole away my life from you, I took away your power.
I felt free, free to blossom into a new born flower.
That's when I meet him, the man that I desired.
The man that new what love was, the one that really cared.
I felt a need for him that I never felt before.
So in the end I want to thank you for showing me the wrong,
and guiding me to a love that is amazingly strong.
