I Wish

by VannaLeen   Jan 24, 2008

I wish I could walk pat you the way I used to,
A Friendly wave or maybe a Hello.
I wish I could speak of you the way I used to,
In an admiring voice with a smile upon my face.
I wish I could talk to you the way I used to,
With eagerness and desperation for your attention.
I wish I could go back and save you,
Stop the pain and the hate you thought you couldn't escape.
I wish I could hold you,
With tender loving arms to gently wash away the hurt.
I wish I could have gone,
To wish you one last good-bye.
I wish that I could now stop the flowing tears,
And pick myself up to put you in the past.
I wish I could turn my back and walk away,
With a small wave and a silent sob.
I wish I could find another way to stop this burning ache,
A silent invitation to a new world from the gleam of a knife.
I wish I could erase this picture of your grave from my head,
With a smooth cut and that oh so desired bloodshed.
I wish that after all of this I could find another, any other way,
One last shaky breath and a slienced scream of agony I let it all slip away
