Stone Memories

by Sharai Gazelle   May 9, 2007

New beginnings begin at the start..
You cut off the memories and get a new heart...
Past things youve done...
Youve shared with the one...
Who helped give you life then caused you strife...
Verbal lashings and hateful stares...
Broken hearts and broken chairs......
Violence and pain become the norm...
Your home becomes a thunderous storm...
You take cover and try to hide...
but by their rules you must still abide...
Peeping out from behind a curtain...
the storms still raging thats for certain...
Each word, each deed forms a wall...
To protect your heart, those who press will fall...
those who knock will be ignored...
memories hurts and pain are forever stored...
Just one word will bring them to mind...
brought by those trying to love and be kind...
You see the happy, the loved and the free...
And you begin to wonder, why not me?
Your storys already begun...
But youve got the pen in your hand...
Go to the wall and unlock the door you slammed...
memories, pains and hurts now trashed...
Now mend your heart where its been slashed...
Find joy and love from those around...
Tell em your story, tell em what youve found...
Peace understanding, and sympathy...
all flow from your hear and out to sea...
