Soldier

Serving as the protector of his country,
to make sure we stay safe and free.
Opinionated on if this war is right,
he continues to go into battle day after night.
Life is so short and hes afraid it may end,
with his brothers by his side and his gun as his friend.
Devoted to his loved ones in bed far away,
he fights for all of our lives day after day.
Intensefied when he is out on a mission,
the safety of his home land is his only ambition.
Exhaustion sets in from time to time,
but talking to his girl is the only thing on his mind.
Returning home from his battles and sacrifice,
his family awaits him with laughter and cries.

A soldier does his job or so he tries,
so we can grow old and have safer lives.
So the next time you see one on the street,
think of all the miles he has walked on his feet.
Dont forget to give him a hug and hello,
after all he is our brave soldier in camo.
