Refuse to let go

Each day i sit and wonder why
Why did you have to die?
We all know that time was near
But each day I realize my worst fear.
I never was there to ask you why
And I never had a chance to say goodbye
So now when i have a chance to cry
My eyes become very dry.

I miss the way you said it would be alright
Even when you faced a deadly fright
You stood by me even when I was wrong
Heck, we even listened to that same song.
So as I sit here and hold back a tear
I realize my worst fear
All I wanted was you to hold me tight
And love me with all your might.

Now I know you watch me from up above
I also know you still have my love
I never want you to leave me here
Please don't ever shed a tear.
You know I will always hold you tight
I still love you with all my might
You may be gone in body and soul
But I still refuse to let go.
