THOUROFAIR

by Kevin   Apr 16, 2004

Let me take you for a walk
down the side streets of my heart
where it all began
and when i first felt love
with the touch of your hand
let us pull away
17 layers of lies and decay
standing alone on an empty street
with the sweet sweet stench of defeat
don't give up and your finally there
standing alone here in turfier

turfier
where the world does not turn
and the fires of the past no longer burn
where the memories play
and darkness lights up the day
turfier
where i can truly see
and the only one left to blame
is me

static questions within the lies
as you stand here alone
resist the urge to cover your eyes
this is the place where emotions dwell
left to rot
alone in this hell
here in the alley of my sanity
you'll find my heart
a place you'll never cease to be
but it all remains a cross I need to bare
here with you in turfier

turfier
where the world does not turn
and the fires of the past no longer burn
where the memories play
and darkness lights up the day
turfier
where I can truly see
and the only one left to blame
is me

its the end of the line for this nightmarish dream
close your eyes and drift off to sleep
the memories of the past I will now keep
be free of you pain and smile inside
I confess I love you and I always will
within all the lies I know that to be real
this feeling is so sacred, so rare
that it has kept me here in turfier

turfier
where my pages can turn
and the fire of my soul can now burn
where the memories play
and my love for you lights up the day
turfier
where i am truly free
and i can finally
be me

****F.Y.I. turfier is suposed to be Thourofair, a dark empty street in my hometown that symbolizes a place one goes to sort out his/her problems, but the website wouldnt let me submit it with that word b/c it read it as misspelled.****
