So Many Keys

by Darrell   May 11, 2007

I brought it out
and now to warm up
my fingers on the pearls
my hearts had enough.

This key's in flat
just to play some simple blues
my fingers move slow
like my hearts rhythmic etude.

The sax of course
the one i so choose
to hold her, to love her
this one i know i won't lose.

Now for some sharps
the feel of new life begins
oh wait, I'm black
I wish my blues would end.

I got no excuses
for the color of my skin
for she can't have me
it's considered a sin.

G major sounds happy
but I play around in B
my heart lay smashed
like every minor key.
