A year has gone since you left me
but your memory will always remain
you left me standing all alone
just me and all the pain

Why you decided to leave me I still don't know
and I guess I'll never understand
cos when I wake up crying each night
I can't reach out for your hand

My tears they now flow so freely
I'm not afraid to cry
but one thing I'll never know
is why you had to die

This was written when I was 17, a year after my dad committed suicide.
