Waiting

by Stephanie Beard   May 15, 2007

Two little girls waited for him to show
He promises, "I'll come tomorrow"
They wait by the window but he never showed
Week by week, it's the same thing
One day he final came, but only to say he couldn't stay
Another heartbreak, another tear shed

Two girls wait for him to show
They phone rings, their eyes light up
"Maybe it will be him, maybe he'll come"
Yet another disappointment, it's not a surprise
Excuses, excuses thats all he has
Letting down his little girls, he makes them cry

Two little girls wait for him to show
Days pass by, the doorbell never rings
They sit by the window praying he'll come
Tired of the lies, tired of being let down
The day when he finally came
His two little girls weren't waiting for him anymore.
