Strangers at first (my 200th poem)

by james22   May 15, 2007

A boy and girl, two complete Strangers at first
but then came together, they became one
everything they wanted was like a thirst
they longed for a almost perfect relationship
they both off set each other
but little did they know, it would end in just a friendship
both started making their choices, it kind of got in their way
something that was once thought of the best thing ever
is no longer that way, so now its a sad sad day
something the boy thought was really going to happen, no longer will
what he had with the girl was like a roller coaster
it was one hell of a thrill
she's gone on to make her own choices and he's still stuck
he doesn't know whether to move on or just sit and contemplate
its something new to him, he's basically like what the f**k ?
they had talked about the certain things they never liked in life
but yet, once it came up. they both ended up doing what they didn't like
one got hurt more than the other and now begins the strife
the boy always thought being nice is what girls love but in the end, he was wrong
maybe its just like the saying he says, "nice guys finish last"
so what to do ? he says, live life in the past or just be a man and be strong
he has friends telling him, you can't always be nice
and he tells them, its something I'm always going to be, i wont change
he then says, I guess not being jerk doesn't help, you end up paying the price
the girl can't do much besides say sorry but to him it doesn't mean anything anymore
he tells her, its just another word in life that has basically lost its meaning
something he wont take serious because he already knows what's in store
because in his life, it has happened many times but there's nothing he can do
he can sit and complain but it wont get him anywhere
so as she decides to move on, he realizes in life this is what you go through
the end came as fast as it started and now its no more
something he thought really wouldn't happen in his life has happened
but its OK, life moves on but in the end, she's still somebody he adores
