THe Hand Of Redemption

by Eugene   May 18, 2007

There in the void of sorrow and loneliness in your heart,
You float alone and afraid.
You feel that you can’t trust anyone,
You don’t want to trust anyone.
When someone reaches out to help pull you out,
You latch to their hand quick and tightly.
They begin to pull you out slowly,
But as everyday goes by your grip weakens.
Eventually you give up,
And you let go;
Falling into the void of sorrow and loneliness you call home.
This time another offer of a hand is reached out.
Do you take the offer,
Or do just look at it and wave?
Thinking to yourself in doubt and sorrow,
You push your self further away from offering hands,
And further into the void.
Yet,
Just one hand catches you eye.
This one seems to have glowing aura of gold,
It also seems to follow you.
No matter how far you lodge yourself in your void,
When you turn around it’s always right there.
You sit there discombobulated.
What would you do?
Will you grab the hand of redemption?
Or will you turn around,
And press forward to the eternal void of sorrow and loneliness?
