Tainted Innocence

by Jeff   May 19, 2007

Rings, clouds, winding serpentines
Float constantly toward the heavens
Climbing slowly. Soothing cherry red
Fire criticizes the graceful ballet of dancing
Smoke. Drifting snowflakes of ash
Through silky gray silhouettes, pollute
Unseen innocence with death’s lacy fingers.

Crystal frozen tears fall one by one
Into rich amber abyss. Flames of purgatory
Held in heaven’s glass menagerie. Glimmering
Diamonds demeaned by velvet glowing
Fire. Swimming angels in a vast sea
Of demons, through crashing waves
Drowning innocence with hell’s passionate kiss
