As many have said before me, this poem brought tears to my eyes. And here I sit in class with this heart filled with a mixture of sorrow and hope. This poem is absolutely amazing!

This was so heartbreaking to read, and yet so beautifully written at the same time. the emotion and depth in this piece are overwhelming, it brought tears to my eyes. what's unfortunate is that so many children have to go through this each and every day. you captured heartache and misery very well in this piece...Beautiful writing.

This is a really great poem.
I like the way it shows reality, but doesn't end sad like most do.
It gives hope and that's really nice to see for a change.

This poem reminds me of my brother and sister. they got taken away from my mom and now they are well taken care of. this brought a tear to my eye, making me remember the times when my sis would wake up saying her hands were cold because we had no heat.... my brother, an one year old, wouldn't get out of bed. This poem is Amazing!!!

This is a great poem. I loved it. You have a great flow of rhythm.

I didn't think this piece was great, but it was okay. My favorite line was 'Heaven at last heard the sweet baby's cries'.
