Enlightened Child

by Shauna   May 24, 2007

I sit in my chill place
relax my tensed fingers
I am at peace with myself
While the world around me quakes

I'm in here screaming
for somebody to open their eyes
Nobody can hear me
for I am tranquil

I am enlightened
forever thankful of my home
Not a house
but a place to be understood

A child has heard my screams
The child is enlightened
Calm and peacful
She sits down beside me

And asks me a question
a question with which she must answer on her own
"Why are we one
and everybody else is another?"
