Put on your pretty black dress

by Brittanee   May 24, 2007

Put on your pretty black dress
put on your jewelry, do your hair
put your face on
step in the lemo and go
into town
arrive at the fanciest restaurant
and give the driver a tip
sit at your reserved table
and watch all the people
smiling and chatting
you will never be them
or anything like them
yet you put on an act
for one night
you smile and chat
you are just like them
at least at a glance
but you feel fake
you never realize
most of those people
are the same as you
