Dedicated to My Brother

This is to my brother. He graduated this year and he's grown up to be such a wonderful person.

You step down from the stage, and you think you're done with life,
But there's so much more ahead of you, you've got so much to live for.
No matter where you go, know I'll always be there to help you get by,
I'll give you my wings so you can spread them and learn to fly.
And there's just something about these days that you'll always remember,
A courageous spark in your heart that you will never forget.
You'll leave and be glad, but you'll remember those that helped you every day,
You'll be a much stronger person and now you know which path is your way.
They have supported you through life and all your hardships;
You'll certainly never forget those frightful times.
Know I'm still here to help you through when you need me to get by --
I'll never forget that you're my brother, and you're growing up before my eyes.
It's such a scary thought, submissing to the world and taking that step,
But I know you can do it with or without my hand.
You may no longer need me, or maybe you never really did;
I know you can hold yourself up on your own, but goodbye I still won't bid.
The good times will roll right by, and I'll always love you,
You'll grow up and discover new, exciting things, but you'd better stay in touch;
We've been through the world together and so much more --
Take the time to open them; there's new chances behind these doors.
