Trail of bones

by Behind the mask   May 30, 2007

I walked alone
into the unknown
till I stumbled across
the trail of bones
right off the path
was a river of tears
I was unaware that the end was so near
not knowing how
I would get home
I stepped right onto
the trail of bones
fear filled my body
pain pulsed through my head
reminder of memories
from those who were dead
but still I walked onward
through the bones and tears
that was when I knew
the end was here
still I walked on
disposing of my fears
into the trail of bones
and the river of tears
