No daddy

Shes awakened with a shake to find her baby sister beaten and bruised
she picks up the blanket and says "come on"
holding back the tears
her sister hops in bed
she knows just what happened
her sister says "Daddy did it again"
she soothes her to sleep
as tears
start rolling down her cheek
she can remember when that was her
she wishes she could replace her sister
when sadness turns to anger
she gets up
oh so quietly
goes to her daddy's gun case
grabs a pistol
walks to his room
aims it at his head
and pulls the trigger with no remource
saying "i said no daddy!"
