I can't believe I fooled myself into falling in love with you,
I can't believe I thought you were a man so true.

I stupidly told myself, "Tonights going to be the night,"
But as you always said I am never right.

The way you kept on looking at me and the way you touched my hair,
The way we hung out together and the memories we share.

I made myself so beautiful for that special night out,
I spent hours on my make up which you didn't even comment about.

It was the way you spoke and the way your face looked in that light,
I thought it was going to happen...but no, not tonight.
