Behind Her Eyes

by Lil Mama   May 30, 2007

Holding herself together at the cost of no ends

Her aloof manner is nothing but pretend.

She tries to mask this pain she feels inside,

Numb and alone she walks alone on this dark ride.

Head held high for all to see,

Inside she is sobbing desperately.

Her pain is never apparent, never shown,

Even those who know her have not seen the unknown.

At one time her heart was so naive,

Now for the loss of her innocence she still grieves.

Eyes that hold so many stories untold,

Such as of how she sold the devil her soul.

Never will you see her traumatic pain,

For a secret it will always remain.

No whisper of weakness is let out,

For strength is what her whole life has been about.

You see her as strong, determined, and unafraid.

But you'll never see how she was betrayed.

When you see her walk by,

Remember that the happiness you see is only a lie.

Deep down inside she still cries,

And behind her eyes she wishes she could die.
