Dad

by Heidi   May 31, 2007

Cancer has slowly crept into your life again,
Stealing away that small piece of happiness.
I know it's hard to think of at times,
But Dad, What about the rest of us?

Don't you know it's hurting us too;
Seeing you smoke that cigaret.
When you come downstairs after a long night,
I can barely catch my breath.

Knowing that you sipped alcohol,
And smoked one-too many cigarets.
Why can't you quit doing these things,
And go back to the promises you kept.

"I'm quitting, Don't worry. Sometime it'll happen."
Well dad, Sometime is now too late.
You have a spreading disease inside your body,
Don't let that smoke, be your fate.
