A cage

by xxSilentlyScreamingxx   Jun 1, 2007

A cage.
A creature contained within.
A wild creature,
Untamed and reckless,
Passionate beyond reckoning.
Screams to be let out, set free,
Rattles the bars of the cage
Until they shake with fury.
Begs to be noticed, to be allowed to speak
And plead it's cause.
But the prison master, the gaoler,
Restrains the creature,
Shouts at it to be quiet.
'You will never be free creature,
You reap too much destruction for that!'
Narrows the cage, shuts out the screams,
Refuses to even listen at all.
Blocks out the honey-covered words,
The tempting whispers,
And chains the creature more.
Anything to keep it locked up.
The consequences if it were released-
Too disastrous to even consider.
