The Most Important Thing

by Natalie   Jun 1, 2007

As I lay alone,
Snuggled up in bed,
I think of all the memories,
Running through my head.
All the thoughts and all the prayers,
They keep me up at night,
The decisions and the battles,
Will I ever win the fight?
I try to make them leave,
The new and the old,
Try to think of something else,
And let my life unfold.
My life has just begun,
It's no where near the end,
I have so many things to do,
Some of them over again.
I need to travel the world,
See the light ahead,
Be with all my friends,
So many things unsaid.
My friends ARE my world,
They mean everything to me,
Without them I'd be nothing.
I couldn't live, I couldn't see.
If I ever lost one of them,
My heart would never heal,
It would be scarred forever,
Making it impossible to feel.
So whenever I see them,
I know I must pray,
To make sure they will always stay safe,
And everything will be okay.
