The Promises We Broke

by Raven   Jun 4, 2007

Sleek.
Shining in the bright moonlight.
On the corner of a deserted street.
On the damp deck of a ship.
A subtle kiss,
A pointed look.
A cry of pain,
A sob of grief.
A flash of light,
A quick, quick slice.
The jab of a dagger,
And the sound of a fall.
The splash of the water,
The cries of the survivors.
The tears shed,
And the broken dreams.
The loves we lost,
The promises we broke.
All pales to nothing,
When they realize that we're gone.
