Life sustaining drugs

I have no need for oxygen
or lithium
or any other chemical you can think of
that seems to be vital to any other human
living organism

i need only three things to live
these are
my life sustaining drugs. i am addicted
and coming down promises to finish me off
inject my sweet serum

my bread, my water, my oxygen
become my drugs;
amphetamines, speed, cocaine
every activity centering
around my addiction

so spill my blood if you deny
me this trio of vitalities;
my love, my music
and my love for music
above all my true love
