Aww its a... oh!

The tiny little cot with flowers on,
the nursery kitted out in pink.
this little girl would combined our families,
this baby was the missing link.

all we needed was a name,
we were thinking Sophie or Ami-lee.
i liked the name Jessica,
in fact all sounded good to me.

we had the dresses laid out and ready,
in yellow, pink, lilac and white
little bows and booties,
and not a boyish thing in sight.

then all of a sudden the pains started,
i was in labor, it was time!
and i just couldn't wait to see,
that little girl of mine.

so many hours went by,
and so did the cups of tea.
plus so many doctors and nurses,
to look after baby and me.

one more push and its over,
we would be holding our bundle of joy.
"congratulations!" said the midwife,
"its a baby boy!"
