The Girl in the Mirror Pt II

by Perfectly Unperfect   Jun 11, 2007

This poem is basically about how we see ourselves and how those who love us see us. It doesn't really matter how negatively you feel about yourself when you have someone who can see passed your faults and just see your perfections.

I

I looked in the mirror today
and I saw my soul waste away

And though I'm just a teen
my body's so unclean

I look like I've been used
my heart's been so abused

This pain I cannot hide
it strongly seeps outside

II

I looked in the mirror today
and wondered why you would say

That I'm not just a teen
that to you, I'm everything

My mind is so confused
I can't fathom this news

My head thinks it's a lie
but I feel good inside

III

I took down my mirror today
and I threw its lies away

Because I now know what is true
and it's that you love me, and I love you <3
