A Child's Life

by Angie   Jun 12, 2007

Can you remember, as a child
when on grapevines you did swing.
Running through the fields and woods
as haphazardly you did sing.

With no shoes upon your feet,
you thought that you could fly.
Never giving life a thought,
or ever wondered why.

Things seemed so simple then,
as only a child could know.
While sitting on the banks,
and watch the water flow.

Never thinking beyond the day,
of what tomorrow may bring.
Laying up on your back,
Enjoying a day of spring.

Staring up in the sky,
looking at the clouds.
Watching the world go around,
while thinking without a doubt.

How peaceful this life is,
no pain to enter in.
And how they view the world,
to them there is no sin.
