My Best Friend

The first time I saw you I didn't know what to think,
I was going through a terrible heart break

You were so handsome anyone could see,
I couldn't believe the one you were after was me

You made me smile, you made me dance
You made me see there's more to romance

Things were getting serious, I didn't know what to do
I was falling fast, and I had to admit I was in love with you

Spring moved so fast and then came June
Then you told me you had to leave and be with your platoon

As I watched you get on the plane, I wanted to scream "please don't go",
But being a Marine was your dream and this I came to know

Time went by so slow and We were apart for one year
As you continued to move on in your military career

You wrote me letters and called all the time
To let me know you would be at the church when the bells chime

We were married on a beautiful spring day in May
And our still together to this day

We've have our ups and downs you see
But that's ok, he's still my one true love
I love him and he loves me

Now we're together as husband and wife,
with 2 little bambinas by our side

He is a great supporter and a great friend
And I am his until the end.
