Forever A Memory

Why the sudden change in heart
the brief sense of hope,
I've been holding on so long
It's time to let go of the rope.
Time to move on,
Time to start a new,
In with the days of fun...
Out with the days of blue.
Thoughts of her still cross my brain
These tears begin to creep,
but now I can refrain.
She's left her spot, made her mark-
But within this put out fire
There is surely a spark.
I will remember her forever for she's my past
She was my first love---
But surely not my last!!

    Very sweet...I completely know what you mean. There's something really special about a first love that you'll never forget for as long as you live. Even if you get married and meet the most amazing person, there's still that lingering memory of someone that opened up a whole new world to you. That, is something precious...even if it hurt a lot.
