Fairy Tales Are Lies

by CarissalRADIOFACEl   Jun 20, 2007

Grab your torch and pitchfork;
the dragon's on his way.
Shield the princess and her castle;
her prince is sure to come today!
Give him one more minute;
He must be almost here.
Just another moment, please;
Her prince is getting near!
Messenger, hand over the scroll;
what does this message say?
"Princess, very sorry;
but your prince won't come today.
Please, do not be angry
with your kind and daring Prince.
He set out to fight your dragon
and we haven't seen him since."
Poor Princess hung her head;
her soul mate would not arrive.
Without the love of her life,
how was she to survive?
At once, far off in the distance,
she faintly heard a roar,
and only moments later
came her prince on his white horse.
Brave Prince search for her in the crowd,
looking for the girl with tears in her eyes,
whispering to only herself,
"Fairy tales aren't lies."
