Corpus Christi
The city where my life truly began
Things didn’t run smoothly
They surely didn’t run as planned
My life hit some ups and downs
I was friends with pretty much every crowd
That ultimately shaped me into the person I am now
The person that everyone seems to want to be around
I’m just me
What’s so special about me?
I guess I just can’t see what people see in me
My past is just that
Something that I didn’t want to last
In fact it’s something that didn’t need to last
I had to put that to an end
And consequently
I lost many of my supposed friends
But I guess that’s just how it goes
Life just doesn’t go in a perfect little flow
I just don’t know
But Corpus Christi
Is what gave my life that little extra go
It was hard to let go
Of the city
That put my life into a crazy flow
The city
That turned me into me
Someone I definitely don’t regret to be
I had to live and learn
My life might have taken the wrong turn
But that’s something that I definitely learned from
It’s just something that happened
In the crazy city I come from
Corpus Christi
A place that doesn’t need to be shunned
Just a place that I learned from
The city
The people
The environment
That’s just what it has to be
Corpus Christi
The city that ultimately
Turned me into the person that I have grown to be
A part of me
Or should I say a lot of me
Will always be with
Corpus Christi
But the rest of me
Had to move on
And see what my future
Had in store for me
