First love

by Kristin   Jun 30, 2007

And I remember those late nights under the stars.
The warm air breeze, laying their on the lawn, just wanting time to stand
Right still.

And the smile on your face,
Your glistening eyes.
And the sound of fireworks around.

And I love those memories when it was just the two of us
And everything seemed so free.

Like that one night in your car the windows down
The wind blowing in my hair
And the smell of your cologne filled the air

Country roads, and late night kisses
Barefoot walks and long talks
Smiles glide and ferris wheel rides
Watching the sun go down and not wanting to leave that small town

That's what first love is

I love the description that you placed in your poem. I can also imagine myself being there and feeling the same things you are feeling. Just something small that helps you return to distant memories really do bring you back totally into the past. It is bliss...but a bliss with sadness. Thanks!
