Nature's Treasures

by Hannah   Jun 30, 2007

I step onto the muddy shore of the pond,
Hypnotized by the diamond water rippling
Trees sway in a less-than-gentle breeze,
While summer clouds drift across a painted sapphire sky
Birds trill against a backdrop of humming insects,
And water beetles skim across the water's surface,
Legged, black pearls dancing and twirling
I stand in solitude, save for a few
Domino dragonflies, coloured black and white
Sunlight warms my skin, my upturned face
I take in the smell of the air,
The touch of the clouds
The taste of the wind
As I listen to the music of the water
And partake in nature's treasures
