Island Dreams

by Ally Smith   Jul 2, 2007

I cast my eyes
Across the sea.
The waters churning
Peacefully.

I watch the dolphins
Surface over.
The sun beaming like a
Natural cover.

I stand upon a
Pearl-white shore.
There are hot sand duns
And birds that soar.

I listen as the cool
Wind blows,
Across m face as soft
as snow.

I feel the waters cirlce
around my ankles,
As the trees overhead
Sway and dangle.

And then i hear my
Name being called.
Upon the winds i
Start to soar.

Higher and higher,
Above the clouds.
Up to the heavens,
There's not a sound.

I opened my eyes.
The wind in my hair.
The warm sand in my hands.
I am back there.

I cast my eyes
Across the sea,
The waters churning
Peacefully.
