I Believe in Tragedy

by RetroRavey   Jul 3, 2007

I never believed
that you could believe in me.

We didn't need to believe
in anything.
But pain seeped through the cracks
of our perfect fortress,
and we held that pain on high...
Higher then ourselves.

I never believed
that anything could kill us...
But something that was stronger
then ourselves
drove me to the depths
and left me there.

I killed you.
I killed beauty
in the time it took to
take a breath.
I killed what was left of nothing.

Believe me when I say,
I never believed
that you could believe in me,
believe in us,
believe in love,
because you couldn't.

I believe in all those things...
I believe
in tragedy.
