Shattered glass litters the pavement
Amongst the splatter of red
A young girl of only sixteen
Lies on the sidewalk dead

She knew this was the only way
She could clear her mind
If she bit her lip and jumped
And left this bitter world behind

The innocent light leaves her eyes
As her body grows cold
The vermillion coats her lips
Erasing the lies they told.

No one knew the pain she felt
That sweet smile hid it well
She pretended everything was fine
Up until the moment she fell.
