Rotting

You shimmer in the mirror
[of self-doubt]
and bear a frown of disappointment
-- as if birth were a catastrophe and
Death merely a pleasure.
You soak up the words of the
Demons [inside of you]
as they promise you the world
[under your feet].

Immersed in precious debates
about
Nothing,
you fail to realize
you
are
Rotting...
