Footsteps

by Greg Scribner   Jul 5, 2007

I can still hear her footsteps , but she`s not here with me ,
Her memory in my mind , for eternity
Her perfume , I still smell , up and down the hall ,
A long time since we parted, you dont even call

I can still love you my sweet, but it`sfrom afar
You are the one who left, and with that has took my heart,
I can still see your smile, still vivid in my mind,
Like my love for you, the one that left behind

I can hear you call my name, but it`s inside my head
These rooms are all but empty, the long nights here I must dread,
I can still feel your caress, as well as that special touch,
The kind that made me happy, wish it was as such

I can examine what we had, what I meant to you
But those words that you have spoken, are unkind and true,
I cant give back to you, what was given to me
My heart will be restless, for eternity

I can still hear your footsteps, even tho your not here with me
I must be just a bad dream, I had, in reality
