October Air

by Nancy   Jul 7, 2007

The cold, crisp October air assaults my nostrils
as I draw a breath in.
The coldness runs through my lungs like the freezing water dripping from melting icicles.
The first signs of winter are on their way.
Like the hummingbird that hovers over the hibiscus flower, so the snow also hovers in the air today.
Snow: clean, fresh, awesome snow.
How I love the beauty of the first fallen snow!
Its blanket gracefully drapes across the stillness of the meadow,
Pure and untouched.
The site is breathtaking.
Beauty at it's finest!
